In 1987, Michael Corrigan saw an opportunity to respond to our customers’ changing needs and expand beyond moving services into hard copy file storage. Modifications were made to our Farmington Hills facility and Corrigan Record Storage began providing secure document storage to our customers. In response to advancements in technology, we expanded our storage capability to include a halon-protected vault that provides increased security and fire protection for computer backup tape media in a climate-controlled environment.
In 1992, to meet the increasing demand for secure document storage, and provide record storage services in an expanded area, we built a 30,000 square foot addition to the Farmington Hills facility. This addition helped bring us the ability to store 300,000 cartons and 100,000 tapes by 1997. The following year, Corrigan Records Storage helped found the National Records Centers that streamlines the record storage process for customers with nationwide storage needs in a single point-of-contact.
In 2000, we expanded our physical locations to Novi with the construction of our 106,000 square foot warehouse and the 3,600 square foot state-of-the-art FM-200 protected vault to cater to our customers’ expanding needs for secure backup tape storage. This facility was expanded in 2009 to accommodate over one million cartons.
In 2011, we once again responded to the changing needs of our clients and built a secure shredding facility to provide effective record destruction services. Our certification by the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) ensures that our destruction services meet industry standards. The addition of secure hard drive destruction promotes our continued success by ensuring that our facilities are ready for the changing needs of a growing market.
