Corrigan Record Storage History

In 1987, several customers of Corrigan Moving Systems began looking for storage solutions for their hard copy records. Michael Corrigan knew he needed to expand his operation to handle more than just moving his customers. Corrigan Record Storage was started and racks were constructed to store these important documents in a safe, secure environment in our Farmington Hills location.
Soon after a need arose to protect tape media for computer backups. This required additional security and fire protection. To ensure the safety and longevity of these tapes, a Halon-protected vault was built for temperature and humidity controlled storage.
By 1992 our Farmington Hills facility was in need of expansion, a 30,000 square foot addition was added. The business continued to grow reaching over 300,000 cartons and 100,000 tapes by 1997.
In order to expand and handle customers outside of our area, Corrigan helped found the National Records Centers (NRC) in 1998.
By the year 2000 our business experienced additional growth and expanded to Novi building a 106,000 square foot warehouse. In addition, a 3,600 square foot state of the art FM-200 protected vault was added to accommodate the needs of our customers expanding tape backup needs.
Our success continues today as we offer new services like secure bin and console shredding rotation to our customers. 2009 will bring the rise of a new addition to our Novi facility, a 42,000 sq. ft. addition to accommodate our nearly 1,000 customers and over 1,000,000 cartons of storage.
